Chris MacInnes

Vice Chair

Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa

Chris MacInnes is the Chief Operating Officer of Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville, Michigan and President of its development company.  A graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, Chris also studied at the University of Vienna. She began her career with Yamaha International in sales and later worked for McCulloch Corporation as a product manager. In 1985 Chris and her husband moved from Southern California to join Crystal Mountain.

Over the last 30 years, they have led $100 million of development, ever-mindful of the resort’s core principles, above all, respecting, serving and sustaining people and the environment. Under their leadership this family-owned resort has transitioned from a ski area into a thriving recreational community and nationally recognized four-season destination.

Chris is active in community and industry service including formerly chairing the TC Chamber, Michigan Travel Commission, the Michigan State Chamber and Benzie County EDC. In addition to TraverseCONNECT, she is a director of the National Ski Areas Association and Chemical Bank’s Traverse City Community Board. Previously, Chris was a member of the Priority Health and Munson Healthcare boards.

The MacInnes’ live in Beulah overlooking Crystal Lake with their two cats, and feel most fortunate to call Pure Michigan home.
