Originally from Baltimore, Maryland and one of five children, Matt’s family now lives in Orange County, California. Matt took the scenic route through college, finally graduating in 2005 from the University of Virginia. When he wasn’t in class, Matt spent time as a ski bum in Snowbird, Utah, wildland firefighter on the Clearwater National Forest in Idaho and soldier in the Virginia Army National Guard, where he was called to Active Duty service in 2002 and spent a year in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba guarding detainees.
After graduation, Matt headed north to New York City and Wall Street, where he served as an analyst in Credit Suisse’s Private Fund Group. Matt started TentCraft, Inc. after a chance meeting and has since grown it to over 85 employees, with a 1.5-year hiatus to earn a MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
Matt and his wife Kelly have three children – Reagan, Charlie and Teddy.
